About us

Who are we?

Although since the very beginning of the company’s launch in 2010, we have implemented many procedures, quality standards, and specialised tools, our greatest strength has always been and will always be people. Our team is like a family and anyone who has had the chance to meet us in person knows that this is the right word. Each of us is different, but the best in their field. Our team includes graduates of not only management and language and literature, but also of philosophy, history, law, political studies, and natural sciences. We are constantly developing our interests, broadening our knowledge, and increasing our skills.

Privately speaking, on our team you will find an enthusiast of acting, two bloggers, a photographer, authors of scholarly publications, a licensed Krakow guide, and a fan of travel who organizes trips to Africa. There are beginner and more experienced parents, lovers of pets, coffee, cinema, and the theatre among us. We not only all have a creative side and outlook on life, but another thing we share is respect for other people and the words we use every day. This is the core around which we have built the identity of our company.

Our in-house team is a bridge between you and a much larger group of hundreds of translators and proofreaders from around the world who we have the pleasure of working with. Each of them has been selected for our team not only because they meet the strict requirements of international ISO standards on education and professional experience, but also because they respect – as do we – other people and the value of the word, which is the tool and content of their work.

Polish Association of Translation Companies (PSBT)

Alingua is a member of the Polish Association of Translation Companies (PSBT) – the only organisation in Poland that brings together professional companies specialising in translation and localisation. The prerequisites for PSBT membership include numerous strict stipulations and continued monitoring on behalf of the Association. Clients of translation agencies belonging to PSBT understand this membership as a quality assurance. PSBT members provide a guarantee for all the services they offer.

Alingua Pomocne Słowo Foundation

In 2016, we created the Alingua Pomocne Słowo Foundation [Alingua Helpful Word Foundation] to combine our everyday activities with helping those in need. 1% of the total value of all orders is allocated to the Foundation’s statutory objectives: support for social initiatives and people in financial difficulties through the provision of translation services and financial assistance, as well as the promotion of the Polish language domestically and abroad. Each submitted order provides selfless assistance to those in need.

The Alingua Translation Agency is an active player in the international translation market – it belongs to the prestigious Elia Association, which brings together around 250 of the best translation agencies from around the world, including 13 companies from Poland. Members of the Elia Association are focused on development and immediately react to the demands of the changing marketplace. Their dynamism and innovative approach determine the direction for the development of the entire translation industry.

Lewiatan Association of Employers of Małopolska

Alingua is the only translation agency which is a member of the Lewiatan Association of Employers of Małopolska. Lewiatan – one of the most influential business organisations in Poland – comprises companies which employ more than one million people in total. The organisation’s prerogative is the cultivation of ethical employment and business practices. Alingua’s membership in the Association attests to our knowledge of the business world and demonstrates that we are always guided by professional integrity.
